FRAME PROFILES: SEALING AND PROTECTION OF PLASTER
The frame profiles intended for sealing and protecting plaster are designed with optimal elasticity to withstand minimal wall movements, thus preventing the formation of cracks. The red profile is suitable for internal installation, while the one with green foam is intended for external use. These external profiles feature slots for integration into plaster or a pre-mounted mesh to support resin finishing in external thermal insulation systems, depending on the model.
The joint between the frame and the wall, both internally and externally, requires a specific sealing system to make it airtight and vapor-proof. It is well known that plaster does not permanently adhere to most materials, especially those with lower absorbency such as wood or metal, and that it is a rigid material unsuitable for absorbing impacts and expansions. Consequently, cracks occur on the edges of the frame in all situations, through which air leaks can compromise the sealing of the doors. Furthermore, the humidity present in the indoor environment uses this path to migrate outward, encountering increasingly colder layers in the wall that promote its transformation into condensation. This situation damages the operation of the frame and can cause the formation of mold and damp spots on the wall. To avoid these problems, it is essential to perfectly seal the frame to the wall, and the plaster door profiles represent the optimal solution.
